Special Guest at Thompson Carr - Ron Ramsey

We were priviledged to be visited by a gubernatorial candidate in our next election for Tennessee. His name is Ron Ramsey and he is from Blountville, TN. He is a family man with three grown daughters. He has been the Lieutenant Governor for our state for three years and is Speaker of the House. He is on the left. In the picture with him is our Broker, Geri Rennie, and Dale Carr, Co-Owner and Auctioneer for Thompson Carr Auctions. He spoke before a group of Sevierville County residents at the Thompson Carr Conference Center on Monday, March 22,2010.

TAR Convention 2010

Three of our Agents attended the TAR convention this week in Murfreesboro, TN. They learned some valuable information about real estate and the Real Estate law.

Geri Rennie, Principal Broker and Ginger Riggs,Realtor and owners of Thompson Carr Real Estate, along with Wanda Phillips, Realtor enjoyed the different presenters at the Spring Tar Convention.

We want to welcome two new agents: David Stephens and Jo Dunn who have joined us this year.

GREAT INFORMATION FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS AND CURRENT HOMEOWNERS

Congress passed a bill and sent it on to President Obama for his signature to extend and expand a homebuyers tax credit. The National Association of Realtors is updating Realtor.org and currently has a podcast and side-by-side comparison of the changes that are expected to be signed into law.

For informational purposes here is a summary of the credit once it is signed by the President that may help answer questions from your clients:

-Expiration date for credit is April 30, 2010.

-First-time buyers still eligible for same credit ($8,000 for married couples, $4,000 for those filing separately).

-Current homeowners, who have consecutively maintained the home they want to sell as their primary residence for five of the last eight years, are also eligible. However, the maximum amount for those homeowners is lower ($6,500 for married couples, $3,200 for separate filers).

-The tax credit may not be used to purchase a home for more than $800,000.

-The income limits for both tax credits have been raised to $125,000 for single buyers and $225,000 for married couples.
