Dollywood State's No. 1 attraction!




Dollywood, a one-of-a-kind Smoky Mountain family adventure in Pigeon Forge, is Tennessee's single most popular and visited attraction.
Covering 125 acres in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Dollywood attracts more than 2.5 million visitors a year.
Dollywood features theme park rides including the $7 million Mystery Mine indoor roller coaster, award-winning wooden roller coaster Thunderhead; the Timber Tower; and, a new in 2008, River Battle, a $5 million water ride complete with soaker guns. There are rides especially for children and several family attractions in the Country Fair area.
Dollywood's live entertainment showcases artists in country, bluegrass, mountain and gospel music with more than a dozen stage shows.
Master craftsmen demonstrate centuries-old crafts, including blacksmithing, glass blowing and wood carving.
Dollywood is also home to four of the South's largest festivals - Festival of Nations, KidsFest, the National Harvest & Music Celebration, and Smoky Mountain Christmas, and also includes the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival in the fall, featuring some of the biggest names in bluegrass music and a variety of barbeque ranging from Carolina's roasted pork to Texas Southwestern brisket.
This year's KidsFest featured the return of the Kratt Brothers from the PBS show "Zoboomafoo" Smoky Mountain Christmas will feature "Dollywood's Babes in Toyland."
Dollywood, Sevier County's largest employer, began operations in 1986. Splash Country, a water amusement park, is also part of Dollywood.
Named after Sever County's own Dolly Parton - She's co-owner - Dollywood is open from April through Christmas, with plans to expand those operations in 2009.
